Verbatim is designed with a privacy-first approach. Your videos never leave your device.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate and improve the app:

On-Device Content: Videos and transcriptions are processed entirely on your device. We do not upload or store your videos on our servers.

App Usage Data: We may collect limited, non-personal usage data such as crash logs, performance metrics, and general app interactions to improve stability and performance. This information is used only for analytics, diagnostics, app functionality, and purchase processing, and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Transaction and Unlock Data: For certain features (such as single-use unlocks or purchases), we may process anonymized identifiers such as a device-generated fingerprint (non-reversible hash) and a purchase-related identifier (such as a RevenueCat user ID). These identifiers do not contain video content or personally identifiable information.

No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal information.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information solely to:

• Provide core app functionality (caption generation and editing)
• Maintain and improve app performance
• Process purchases and unlock features
• Communicate important updates

We do not use your content for advertising or unrelated purposes.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except in limited cases:

• Service Providers: We may use trusted third-party services for analytics, error reporting, purchase processing, and secure infrastructure. Examples of service providers we use include Firebase (analytics and crash reporting), RevenueCat (purchase and subscription management), and Cloudflare (secure infrastructure and unlock validation). These services receive only the minimum necessary data and are contractually obligated to protect it.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process.

We do not share or transmit your video content.

4. Your Choices

You can delete videos and captions from your device at any time.

If applicable, you may request deletion of any associated account or purchase-related data.

If you do not agree with this policy, you may choose not to use the app.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Children’s Privacy

Verbatim is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated within the app or through other appropriate means.

8. Third-Party Services

Verbatim may use third-party providers such as Firebase, RevenueCat, and Cloudflare to support analytics, crash reporting, purchases, subscriptions, and secure feature unlocks.

These providers process only the minimum information necessary to provide their services and do not receive your video content.
